Relationship with food...

For the next couple of days, the goal is to really think about your relationship with food.

think back to how it started, what messages were you taught as a child? go thru each meal, breakfast,lunch, dinner. Did you eat as a family? Was there drama associated around mealtime? were you in a large family and you had to hurry up and get your portion? Think about the emotions connected with mealtime? At dinner were people arguing? were you alone? Or was tht the only time that the family was together? Did meals become  a comfort in the midst of other drama? When you were sad did your parents promise to make you feel better with ice cream or other food treats?

5 pounds in 1 week- 20 pounds total....

Wow it really works!!!! 5 pounds down with this new eating program... Now the doctor says I can lose another 5 by next week- Hmmm, i dont kknnnooww.. i guess we shall see! and as you can see above me the third amigo slimmin down nicely!!! woohoo

Meal Adjustments

So Monday I met with a top weight loss doctor and received my specialized meal program....

So far it's not to bad, I really think it's mostly mental... So here is a sample of my meal program

Breakfast
fruit
2 boiled eggs
yogurt
coffee
16oz water

Lunch
Salad with chicken breast or plain
mixed veggies
baked chicken
16oz water

Dinner-
Same as lunch

Dessert-sugar free jello, pudding..

once a week i can have strawberry shortcake...

So far I've eaten breakfast! and i'm not starving... Pray for me....

Next Phase....

So the working out and cutting back have been going well.. but..... i know i need to really do more in the way of eating to really maximize and melt away the pounds.
So on Monday I will be working with a doctor and nutrionalist to actually provide a meal plan for me to stick to..
i'm excited about this new chapter, and plan to also intensify my work out.... the goal is 40 more pounds by August.. :-O
i know tha'ts a lot but hey- i think i can do it!

And we're back....

So the journey has been going well.. But the weight loss seems to be moving a little slower now.. So that means I have to step things up...
So my goals for this week will be:
lots and lots of water
up my cardio by 5 minutes or 1 level
No eating after 7 pm- (this will be the hardest one )

i'll see how that goes...

Exercise!

This weekend I did a taping for my documentary and I interviewed a doctor that deals with diabetes, cholesterol and heart disease.. and one thing he said was this the effect that exercise has on the body, that you should exercise even if you don't lose a pound! he said exercise is that "magic" pill that works for just about every type of disease... so my tip for this week and reminder is to keep exercising! i can't wait to treat my body this week to some good exercise!

Can I lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks? hmmmm

So as you know the weightloss journey continues to be a journey! If I were to grade myself I'd say i get a B on overall performance.. So I decided to give myself a huge incentive... I'm attending a Gala april 3rd- why not try to lose 10 pounds between now and the Gala- that is a lil over 3 pounds a week and completely doable if I stay focused.... soooooo I'll let you know how it goes!

15 pounds down 60 pounds to go!

So this past week has been kind of slow- BUT i'm excited to get back on track.. I mean i've still been working out but i just feel i need to step up my game! I'm thinking about doing a March Madness type of thing and really just go hard for March!!! lets see if i can shave off a good 25 in one month! that would be GREEEAAATT!!!

No news is good news!

Just wanted to take a moment and update this blog about my progress! First i'll say the last week has been rough! we were plastered by a huge snow storm and stuck in the house off and on all week! That being said, I managed to get some working out in, and did prreeettyyy well with my eating..
The good news is that I didnt' gain any weight- BUT i didn't lose any either! but it's okay, plan to kick it in gear this week!

Get Set Lets Go

Last week finished off pretty well.. Still making changes and adjusting to a healthier lifestyle... The funny part is exercising is actuallly the easiest part, it's the eating that is challenging.. what to eat what not to eat, what's not going raise or lower my blood sugar to much! but... it's a process! So Monday time to get back in da grind!

Reached a new milestone today!

I can't believe i did 45 minutes on the Elliptical today! Burned 513 calories! i'm excited it's been well over a year- maybe 2 since i've really stuck to my workout and did that type of workout!  I can't wait to see some REAL outer results but i can tell you- the inner results are already happening...

Battle of the Quads

So I was competing with Lori on these but Lori as always got lower and lasted longer than me! :-( but at least i worked up to 45 seconds!!! Lori did 2 minutes!



Elliptical Vs. Bike

I really would have thought that the bike burned MORE calories but low and behold the elliptical machine actually burned more calories- almost twice as many at a lower level- so i think i'll stick with the elliptical. .Still trying to work up to 45 minutes but for now it's 30 minutes 5 times a week!

Well here I am finished my work out and about to change and get dressed to go back to work!

Today was very difficult preparing for my workout.. I was so tired but i'm very glad I went- AND did my 35 minutes... I also worked triceps today... I'm noticing a difference but I will be glad when i'm really significantly smaller.. Oh well, one day at a time, one pound at a time....

Tuesday was a bit rough... For some reason I was really out of it, but i'm glad I went on and did my work out.. infact I was able to do 75 crunches (without the powerball)!
